HELP TIE QUILTS FOR QUILTS-FOR-CHARITY--In Memory of Founder, Genie Corbin, SATURDAY, MARCH 3, 2018, Please come to help tie children’s quilts on Saturday, March 3rd, downstairs in the fellowship hall from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It will be Calvary’s 18th annual Quilts-for-Charity day, sponsored by the Calvary Quilters. Come all day or just a few hours. You don’t need sewing skills to volunteer. Just come and lend a hand.

The Calvary Quilters have already made the quilt tops ahead of time. Those will be ready for volunteers to layer with backing and batting, then tie evenly-spaced knots to create a quilt. Finally we’ll machine-stitch binding around the edges.

This year’s quilts will again be donated to the Carroll County chapter of Project Linus. Project Linus provides homemade blankets and quilts to children ages birth through 18 who are suffering physical or emotional pain. Project Linus needs quilts of all sizes, especially quilts for boys and teens.

Volunteers must be either adults or students middle school age and up. Lunch will be provided at no cost. No sewing experience is required; volunteers can just iron fabric or tie knots. If you do sew, you could bring your own scissors and a sharp needle with a big eye for tying quilts, or a sewing machine and extension cord for stitching labels and binding. Be sure to mark any tools with your name. Students should bring their form for service learning hours. Contact: Carolyn Hill, 410-795-9343.
